Restore your original strength & resilience – Trauma and PTSD Recovery Program.

An  8 - week course supporting people with Post Traumatic Stress.

"Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you, as a result of what happens to you” Dr Gabor Maté

Unhealed trauma impacts every aspect of our lives.

It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds…

From addiction to troubles with intimacy, all the way to emotional, spiritual and physical health.

This course is an evidence based course for people who have experienced stress or trauma in their younger years. Research shows that the body stores trauma in muscle tissue and the brain. The effects of stored trauma can include nightmares, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, insomnia, fear and a compromised immune system. Stored trauma can also lead to negative self defeating behaviour patterns, substance abuse & addiction.

The classes are a combination of physical and mental exercises, breath work and meditations that were put together to target the areas of stored trauma and dis-regulation.

The specialised yoga course for the recovery of trauma is designed to help safely move people out of states of hyper arousal or shut down and disassociation back into life.

The practice of Yoga has been found to be effective for treating anxiety, depression and insomnia which are key symptoms of PTSD. This specialised course uses  tools from Yoga Therapy, Somatic Healing & Applied Polyvagal Theory alongside Therapeutic Yogic Tools/ Philosophy, Neuroscience and Gabor Maté's psychotherapeutic approach of Compassionate Inquiry Approach.

The course begins by creating a sense of safety and then slowly and progressively begins to awaken the confidence to explore and accept what is being felt in the body. To be present in the body is a positive step towards recovery.

The pace and progression of the course helps to develop an inner pulse of contraction and expansion. This pulse works in class by inviting an action, then a pause, then an action and so on. The students are invited to engage in a practice of breath work or meditation and then they are given time or they can choose to take the time, to pause and relax. This is an important part of the process of balancing the nervous system.

Relax the body, the mind will follow.

"I was so impressed by this course I attended last year.  Lucinda is kind and gentle with lots of knowledge.  I felt safe in every class and felt the benefits within the first few weeks.  I cannot recommend this course high enough. I have been suffering with PTSD  for 15 years and the tools I have learnt have supported me to overcome debilitating panic attacks. Please do this course!"
