“Loneliness does not come from having no people around, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible.”

~ Carl Jung

Counselling & Yoga Therapy are two therapeutic disciplines that are beautifully complimentary to one another as well as to any other treatment modality in the health care system. This is a highly confidential service and very individualised to suit the needs, goals, and lifestyle of the person seeking the therapy.

COUNSELLING

believe that healing begins with a compassionate space—where you are deeply heard, gently seen, and safely supported. As an integrative counsellor and somatic therapist, I offer a grounded, heart-centred approach that honours the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

I work with people navigating grief and loss, anxiety, trauma, addiction, disordered eating, relationship challenges, sleep difficulties, and spiritual crisis. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply ready for change, our sessions create space for you to reconnect with your inner clarity and wholeness.

The Heart of My Approach

My therapeutic work weaves together a number of powerful and evidence-informed modalities:

  • Compassionate Inquiry® (developed by Dr. Gabor Maté)

  • Somatic psychotherapy and body-based awareness

  • Mindfulness and self-compassion practices

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

  • Positive Psychology and trauma-informed neuroscience

These approaches allow us to explore unconscious patterns, emotional imprints, and long-held beliefs that may be limiting your capacity to feel safe, connected, and empowered. Through embodied inquiry and gentle reflection, I support you in cultivating new ways of being that foster self-acceptance, insight, and resilience.

What is Compassionate Inquiry®?

Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that helps uncover the unconscious beliefs, body memories, and mental patterns that shape your lived experience.

Together, we explore the internal stories—often inherited or long-standing—that may be influencing your self-worth, behaviours, and relationships. By bringing gentle curiosity and presence to these stories, you can begin to loosen their hold and reconnect with your authentic self.

The purpose of Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves … and guide them to the possibility of letting go of the hold those stories have on them.”
— Dr. Gabor Maté

This method is deeply respectful and non-pathologising. It invites you to meet yourself with compassion and to honour the wisdom your body carries.

Counselling or Yoga Therapy – What’s the Difference?

As a counsellor and  yoga therapist, I offer two complementary modalities for healing:

Counselling is often the first step when you’re facing a specific issue—such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions. These sessions are primarily talk-based and draw on psychological frameworks, Compassionate Inquiry, mindfulness, and nervous system-informed tools. The focus is often on understanding patterns, building insight, and supporting emotional wellbeing.

Yoga Therapy, by contrast, offers a more body-based, spiritually attuned pathway. Many clients who seek yoga therapy have explored traditional talk therapies but feel something essential is missing—such as a connection to their body or spiritual self. These sessions may include yoga postures, breath work, meditation (e.g., yoga nidra), and subtle somatic inquiry.

Both approaches honour the body-mind connection, and many clients find benefit in exploring both as part of their healing journey.

At the heart of my counselling work is a deep belief in your inherent wisdom and capacity to heal. My role is to walk beside you—offering presence, insight, and guidance as you navigate the landscape of your inner world.
